Alamitos Bay Yarn Co is a friendly place to go for yarn. They have a large selection of yarns from cashmere to craft yarns. Offering classes and workshops with designers from around the world. The employees are very helpful, sitting down with you to talk about a planned project of helping with a problem on a current project.

i am new to knitting. a good friend of mine suggested this store as a great place to go for knitting supplies. i was hesitant because i read the previous review for it and it didn't seem like the place for me to start. i did however follow my friend's advice and am so happy i did. not only does this store have an amazing selection of various knitting supplies, but the employees were incredibly helpful, kind and knowledgeable. it is a bit of a drive for me, but it was totally worth it. they also offer classes at various levels, which i am excited to try out. i would recommend this store to anyone who loves knitting. i hope it's as great of an experience for you as it was for me!

This is a really nice shop. It has a beautiful location, fair prices, great selection of yarns and supplies however, don't expect any customer service. This just does not exist there. I've visited this store a couple times trying to gieve them the benefit of the doubt and just realized why I always walk away empty handed. While the store was well staffed and it was off-peak business hours, I ended up standing around for a good 40 minutes trying to get someone to help me but getting the brush off instead. If you know exactly what you want and don't need to communicate with anyone about it, then this is the store for you. Frankly, customer service is part of my buying process and since on a few occasions I experienced none whatsoever from this store I think I can't recommend it nor feel like it is worth my time to shop here.
