Friendliest art gallery ever
This gallery has been in Beverly Hills for almost 10 years, sadly unnoticed. They have an amazing collection of works by Picasso, Chagall, Miro and a surprise find of a tremendous collection of original photographs of Marilyn Monroe. Also, beautiful glamour photos by George Hurrell from the 30's and 40's.
One of the best things about the gallery besides the art is the staff. the Director, Lily, is extremely knowledgable and a truly lovely person. If you are fortunate enough to go in on a day when the owner, Andrew Weiss, is in the gallery be prepared for exciting conversation. He really knows his stuff and you can see his love of the art as he gets into telling you about a certain piece or a certain artist.
I was fortunate enough to meet Mr. Weiss and his beautiful wife Denise at a charity function where they had donated a piece of art to raise money. After speaking with them I had to go into the gallery . I am so glad I did. Be prepared to get lost in a beautiful place and take home a piece for yourself.
