Really disappointing
I was a friend of a member and I thought the place was really cool. But soon after things got ugly. They treated my friend like S#&*@! And that's not cool! This place is over charging it's members and they know it. And the service here is bad for the price. Why don't they serve bottled water or towels? That's the only way that I would give this place 5 stars!
I have to say that since I signed up with Sports Club, I have never worked out so hard, the classes are interesting and the staff here is always helpful. I absolutely love the yoga classes, especially Erika, she is an inspiring teacher.
This place is over priced gym and the workout classes are the same as any other gym. This place is not fancy nor does it have friendly staff. The only people who gave this place good reviews are the ones who did not pay for the monthly dues. I see alot of reviews by guest and first time gym members. Take time to talk to the GM and see what bizarre comments come out of his mouth. If you complain about anything, he will tell you that you are not a good "Fit" for this gym. So I quit and filed a complaint and got a refund.
There are TONS of group exercise classes to choose from. When I tried the gym out for a week I went to their definitions class & basic indo-row, both I hadn't heard of before... They did not dissapoint. The instructors were nice & both had me sore the next day. I would also reccomend the Saturday morning Step class, the instructor Paul is hilarious (catches me up on the week's hollywood gossip & movie reviews) and offers variations to match any fitness level. Overall its the perfect place to bring your girlfriends for a group work out.
The staff do not communicate with the trainers and schdules for training times get conflicted. I was working out with a trainer for weeks when the management gave away my time slot to another member who threatened to quit. They even gave that member free sessions. Instead of apologizing for their scheduling error, they ignored me and dismissed me. They totally favored this other member. I was treated like a second class citizen. SO I quit!!! For $175 a month I would hope the Sports Club la install a scheduling program that works.
