DO NOT stay in this hotel if you want a peaceful stay. Workers at this hotel have been protesting and picketing regularly ouside this hotel for months. These workers have been working without a contract for almost 2 years!

Pros: Located in San Diego.

Cons: Noisy labor dispute disturbs stay.

Price Range: $1 - $5

Good for Small Events by Christina P. at InsiderPages

I've been there a couple of times for various events. Never really stayed there. Parking lot is small and hard to get out of because there is only one entrance and exit. Food was good, but the room where the presentation was held was kind of small. Security enforced the rules of the hotel and the party renting the space, so employees were very attentive. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for large events, but it's good for an event from 100-150 people.

Great Venue by Yao L. at InsiderPages

I've stayed at this hotel before and it's one of the nicest staffed hotels I've ever been to, probably because it's not a chain. Even more amazing is the venue whether it be for a banquet, dance, or comedy show they have very well staffed and looking conference rooms! Anything that you want to plan in San Diego Handlery should be on your list if you're looking for a venue or a place to stay

Perfect location and friendly service!

I travel to San Diego about once a year and I will never stay anywhere else! I have moved around year to year and happened upon the Handlery this year for the first time. I was very impressed by the attentive and friendly help at the front desk and the concierge/bell desk. The hotel itself is a bit dated but the location, just off the Interstate 8, is only minutes from all the local attractions and walking distance to a trolley stop. It appears as though the hotel has been updating the rooms as there were some 'under construction' signs around and I can not wait to return next year to see the updates personally.

nice pool great price- staying here next time

Third time here with my boyfriend- close to the beaches and good price. Be sure to request the poolside rooms.
