I like Madame Matisse, but agree sometimes it can be Miss. I haven't had any problems with cold dishes or bad coffee, but every now and then the food is kind of bland. However, I like the location, its convenient for me to meet friends that live on the other side of town there. The staff is friendly and the patrons patient given the tight quarters. Parking is the only continuous problem since this venue competes with other similar restaurants close by. I can say I like this place, and have no problem recommending it, but its not my favorite breakfast place in town.

After my second visit, still horribly underwhelmed by this restaurant. Now I know that silverlake/echo park isn't known for their taste in food so, granted, butl after a cold, tasteless omelet and equally cold, over cooked potatoes...i went back AGAIN just to be fair. Guess what? The food was terrible again. Okay, terrible may be a bit harsh but my wife ordered the berry pancakes and another omelet. Both freaking tasteless, the pancake in particular (although pretty) was just completely bland. The case is officially closed on Matisse for us. If the "taste" of your food is your prime directive, see you at The Griddle or Marston's.
