We had business dealings with Jeff and Open Road RV, several years ago and it was terrible. Because we want to RV again, we are doing alot of research to make sure Jeff is not associated in any way with the company we are considering. During this process I came upon this site. The only reason that Open Road has 4 1/2 stars on this site is because Jeff, the owner, responds to the open and honest 1 star reviews with a 5 star rebuttal, and I'd take a guess that he, or someone he knows, posts bogus 5 star reviews. Notice the "names" of people who post reviews. Is it a coincidence that "catwoman75" and "dogs123" both misspelled family (familey)? I don't think so. My spouse thinks Jeff is just a bad business man, I think he's dishonest. Protect yourself and do lots of research on him before you do ANY business with him. Better yet, just go find another RV dealer to work with.

We got there and there were 2 groups ahead of us, but we got our motorhome and they gave us a good orentation. Everything worked fine and we had a nice time on our trip. When we got back we checked in and finished our paperwork. I can recomend this company

My familey has rented every Summer for the last 4 years and we will never go anywere eles. We also send our freainds there.

We are travelling from europe to the USA and ordered our RV at 'Open Road RV' - a 22 ft Jamboree - by internet. In the internet we shaw nice photos of the RV and it look as if it were in a good shape. Unfortunately arriving in LA we had to notice that the car was very old and not in a good shape. During our journey at the first day to Las Vegas we noticed that the radiator was broken and the car got nearly overheated. We called Jeff approximately 10 times but he did not respond on our phone calls. So we refilled the radiation an went ahead with our journey (a 4 Week journy where we saved mony for a long time to do it). After a long drive through Nevada a man at a tire station told us that the tires are very old. The tires had cracks, were very old and were of different sizes even on one axis. After some phone calls of the man from the tire station Jeff agreed to change the radiator and 4 of the 6 tires of the RV. So we could go on. But, apart from that the refrigerator, the freezer and the microwave did not work and despite the repaired radiator the car gets nearly overheated every 200 miles. We told and wrote Jeff all the grievances but he did not response on that even not on E-mail. When we returned to LA it was a really hard fight with Jeff to get a refund from our payment. Furthermore, back home in Europe we received a bill from Jeff for additional gasoline. We obtained the RV with the fuel-tank half filled and returned it similarly. Nevertheless Jeff sent us a bill for refilling the tank.
So our recommendation is to keep away from this RV rental!!

We picked up our RV and everyone was friendly, our motor home was clean and ready to go. We had a wonderful time. When we brought the motor home back it was clean but we forgot to dump the holding tanks. Jeff let us take it and dump it and we got our deposit back in full. I can recommend Open Road RV to anyone.
