best getaway by Annette G. at InsiderPages
This is the best place to get away from it all. Located by seaworld on what seems like its own island. Lots of greenery, beautiful lagoons, and 5 fabulous pools. The spa is great and so are the two restaurants. Parking is available right in front of the guest rooms. And not to forget it is surrounded by beach.

Great secluded location, but a bit overpriced
Let's see here... They had great idea - putting resort on island (kind of) with bungalows in tropical setting. First of all you must have car to get around. There is nothing at walking distance from this place.

Pro's: Very nice bay, not far from sea world, San Diego is one of the best cities in US for vacations, lush tropical setting, private bungalows, nice pools, decent bar/restaurant, boats/jet ski for rent, great spot for running/jogging around island (don't be afraid of homeless folks under the bridge), very nice park near by.

Con's: $20/day for parking spot, confusing as hell layout without markers (if you have no map you will be lost - word), $15/day for gym (are you kidding me?), nothing near by.

Regards.

HORRIBLE ROOMS!!!!
I have to say -- this place is WAY overpriced and does not deserve a four star rating. We went for the weekend and were disappointed all around. 1st we had to change rooms THREE times because they were filthy. (Complete with left-overs in the toilet and hair on th bathroom floors.) Then when we finally did get to the room we stayed in - it smelled of mildew and mold. The grounds are incredible, but the rooms are disgusting and in serious need of an overhaul. I warn you -- DO NOT PAY a 4 star price for this property -- it's not worth it! Finally - for the price -- the staff was surly, the room service slow and you have to pay $22 a night to park your car outside of your own room. We went with romance in mind and ended up visiting all that the beautiful San Diego had to offer because the rooms were that below a two-star standard.

Beautiful property, but rooms need overhaul.
Great location and nice rooms. Expected more for the prices they were charging. It was very much a family resort and there were lots of kids there when we stayed. The service staff were below average (they closed the pool bar when a line of people were waiting to order drinks, etc.) but the property was lovely.

Indulge - Spa Review
If you want to get away from the world for a little while, I choose Spa Terre at Paradise Point in San Diego, California. As soon as you pull into Vacation Road, they create a tropical atmosphere with the flowers and trees. Past the first stop sign, there is parking to the left, and the entrance to the spa is through the pool area.

As you enter the building there is a well-equipped gym in the room next door to the spa reception. You check in, and then are shown the waiting room and women's or men's facilities. In the locker area, you'll find slippers and a robe to change into, as well as a wet sauna, and a well-stocked bathroom--just in case you forgot to shave or bring your toiletries with you.

I was impressed with the decor and size of the treatment rooms. The couples' massage room that I saw is a large hut-like room separated from the main building.

Each massage therapist are excellent in whatever treatment you choose. I have been delighted with their services, and have bought gift certificates for friends.
