I went to Rock Bottom for a San Diego Beer Club Meetup and we got to meet Marty, the brewer. I was impressed at his knowledge and who he cares about making the best beer he can. We tasted several different kinds of beer and many of us took advantage of the happy hour menu.

The meetup was conducted upstairs so we had the floor to ourselves, the staff was very efficient, the food came out quickly and it was very good. This restaurant is conveniently located in an area with ample parking. Great place to go for good food and great beer.

Compared to some of these other reviews I feel that I got lucky. I don't know maybe I just have good karma!?

I went to Rock Bottom in La Jolla last night. Not only did I have friendly service, but the Nachos were amazing. It's hard to find Nachos that are still hot when they hit your table. These were!

I had a two beers, the fire chief was my favorite. It was a nice touch when the server went into detail about what went into the beer.

All and all I had a great time, I will be back again. To make sure of it one of the managers came by and asked how our meals were, and left with a "Come back anytime, we hope to see you soon.!"

This place has real character! I love going to a new place and seeing it busy on a regular Monday night! I grabbed some seats at the bar and ordered whatever the bartender's favorite beer was. It was their draft IPA, absolutely amazing! And the amazingness didn't end there! I ordered the chicken waldorf salad! Also very tasty! The bartenders are cheery and the service is quick. I always like a chatty bartender who enjoys playful banter as much as I do! The parking is easy as there is a huge parking lot outside! Love this place and can't wait to come back for a girls night!

Rock Bottom has great craft beers and readily changing menu. Of course the old standbys like the mac n chicken are always great, but try one of the newer burgers. I ordered the Kettle Chip Crunch on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. For beers, I always recommend the porter, but try some of their other seasonal favorites and you won't be disappointed. Join the mug club to earn rewards and prizes.

I came here on a good note. My math professor took the top winner and top loser in a combinatorial games to Rock Bottom where he payed for our food. I had never really gone to this place, since my regular destination in the area was nearby El Torito and later Pho La Jolla.

I ordered a steak/potatoes plate which was good quality. Though the portions felt smaller compared to other restaurants. They had a good amount of alcoholic beverages available since it features a bar area. I can't judge the place with this first visit since it would be more biased than normal for a restaurant visit.

Later on at another visit, I ended up playing pool which is a fun thing to do at places like this. They have more tables than normal and a more upscale crowd to compete with. Something that TGI Friday's is lacking in.

All in all, a well rounded place though I would say is slightly pricey for what you get in comparison to other places.
